After hearing this album a couple times, I can confirm that it is indeed another great release by Elderwind. The melodies and emotions are omnipresent and the overall atmosphere indeed seems a tad colder than on the first release. A saddening but wonderful, impressive record! David Fischer
What an ambitious album - and to think it’s a debut album too. Sojourner have found an excellent way to create atmospheric black metal with significant folk contributions. Truly epic stuff. Somehow they just keep getting better with each release too. If you like this you’ll love the rest of their discography. 8/10 RJ
No denying the talent on display here. I prefer the harder songs on this release which sound like a black metal version of Iron Maiden getting accidentally booked to play at the Renaissance Festival. The acoustic passages, however, just kind of sound like you are actually at the Ren Fest... which for many honestly can be a take it or leave it option. bcb723
Folk-influenced heavy metal; as the title suggests, this LP is all about home, described through landscapes, literature and paintings. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 6, 2017
